10 ROMANTIC RESTAURANTS IN INDIANAPOLIS TO ENHANCE YOUR DATE NIGHT

December 23, 20255 min read
Indianapolis's most romantic restaurants include AAA Four Diamond Vida, James Beard-recognized Tinker Street and Oakleys Bistro, and farm-to-table Traders Point Creamery. These spots work equally well for a regular date night or for celebrating around a boudoir session, whether that's a reveal-night dinner or an anniversary gift.

Every couple knows this feeling a little too well. You finally carve out a night to yourselves, but the last several weeks have left you so burnt out that the only option that sounds appealing is the same sitcom and the same takeout order.

As an Indianapolis boudoir photographer, I love helping couples shake up their everyday. Here are ten current romantic restaurants around Indianapolis worth putting on real clothes for and having a night out.

10 Indianapolis Restaurants Worth Dressing Up For

There's no real ranking such good eats, so here are some favorites depending on the mood you're after, numbered so you don't miss a single one of these recommendations, babes!

1. Vida

601 E New York St, Indianapolis, IN 46202

It doesn't get much more romantic than Vida. This is Indianapolis's only AAA Four Diamond restaurant, and Chef Thomas Melvin is a two-time James Beard semifinalist. The tasting menu leans into seafood, with vegetarian options available for the herbivores at your table.

2. Tinker Street

402 E 16th St, Indianapolis, IN 46202

A downtown favorite that genuinely accommodates specialty diets, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, without anyone at the table feeling like they're missing out. Owner Tom Main was named a 2026 James Beard semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur. Tinker Street is a 21-and-over establishment.

3. Beholder

1844 E 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46201

Chef Jonathan Brooks of Milktooth calls this a culinary wonderland, and the ever-evolving, seasonal menu backs it up. Think Black Bass and Roasted Scallops, Pink Moon Oysters, and Wagyu Flat Iron Steaks, alongside some of the best cocktails in the city.

4. Bocca

122 E 22nd St, Indianapolis, IN 46202

Modern Italian in Fall Creek Place, from the same owner behind Ambrosia. Enjoy burrata caprese, seafood ravioli, braised short rib, and a basement speakeasy called Verita if you want to extend the night.

5. Geraldine's Supper Club & Lounge

1101 English Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46203

One of the best atmospheres in the city, exposed brick, romantic chandeliers, and live jazz in a historic building. Steakhouse favorites like racks of lamb and dry-aged steak, plus caviar and oysters if you want to make it a whole occasion.

6. Nesso Italian Kitchen

339 S Delaware St, Indianapolis, IN 46204

Bright, airy, and adjacent to The Alexander Hotel, with valet available for a reduced rate when you dine here. Chicken Tortelloni, Braised Lamb Orecchiette, and an extensive Italian wine list worth lingering over.

7. Oakleys Bistro

1464 W 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46260

Chef Steve Oakley has earned James Beard semifinalist recognition across four separate years, and yes, he's the one who beat Bobby Flay on television with his signature shrimp corn dog. Jazzed-up American classics like brisket and Crispy Indiana Pork Schnitzel, plus dessert you won't want to skip.

8. Traders Point Creamery

9101 Moore Rd, Zionsville, IN 46077

Farm-to-table in the truest sense, on an actual organic, grass-fed dairy farm. Grass-fed New York strip, pork chops with polenta, and a dairy bar on-site for their signature ice cream if you want to end the night on something sweet.

9. Savor

211 W Main St, Suite 102, Carmel, IN 46032

A Mediterranean-Italian spot in the Carmel Arts & Design District built around wood-fired cooking and handmade pasta. Their Wagyu Tomahawk and Colorado Lamb Rack are worth the drive over from Indy on their own.

10. Ambrosia

5903 N College Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220

An old-school Broad Ripple staple, family-owned and run by the Pizzi family for 47 years now. Marsala, lamb, Penne Alla Rustica, and the kind of story behind the restaurant that makes the meal feel like more than just dinner.

A Great Dinner Pairs Well with a Boudoir Session

Dinner at one of these ten spots is a genuinely great way to celebrate around a boudoir session, too!

Some of my clients book a reveal-night dinner right after seeing their images for the first time, still a little floaty from the experience and wanting to mark the occasion with their partner.

Others treat their session itself as an anniversary gift, with dinner the same week to make the whole affair feel like an event instead of an errand.

If you're in the planning stages and want the fuller picture, from wardrobe to timeline to how to spend the days around your shoot, that's what my Indianapolis Boudoir and Prep Guide walks through.

Make the Reservation

Any one of these ten restaurants will shake up date night. Pick one, beautiful human, and book it.

Stop overthinking the reservation.

Dinner's a safe way of reconnecting, and it pairs nicely with a deeper experience like a boudoir shoot that shakes loose what's become so tight and can rekindles or ignite new levels of intimacy.

Boudoir sessions for couples are a beautiful way to become closer together. Let's talk about your next steps.
